Hello,

The print spooler service on my windows xp sp2 machine keeps stopping, the service is set to automatic but it does not start automatically, and when i manually start the service it works for a minute and then stops again. anybody have any ideas. Even when no printers are attached to the pc and you try and add one in you get an error "could not complete operation" and the spooler service has stopped again

There are options under "Administrative Tools -> Services -> Print Spooler -> Properties -> Recovery Tab" that let you set what happens when the service stops, you set it to always restart.

As far as why it is doing that, are there any bad printer drivers, printers that are no longer fiscally there, or system optimization software running? Might want to run a virus scan as well, but that is a very long shot.

Good luck!

in case anybody is wondering, i removed Netsupport version 6 and installed netsupport version10 this solved the problem.. thanks
