My issue is with the size I created my poster and the size I want to print it. I planned on printing an 11 X 17 inch poster. I'm more used to Photoshop and began the document in AI9 as 3300 pixels by 5100 becacuse I wanted a resolution of 300 pixels.

Now when I go to print the poster it only prints a little rectangle area in the middle of the poster I made.

I have tried to mess with Document Setup Scale the art but my Font strokes turn into bubbly unreadable mess.

Can I print the way it is and just change a print resolution setting?

thanks for any help ahead of time.

Hi,

In illustrator you don't worry about things like the dpi of the output. So you use the document setup and make your file 11 X 17 inch. And you adjust your layout to that.

hope this helps

Is there any hope for printing my document at 11 x 17 since I made it 4 times too big when I created it?

Is there a way to resize all of my layers and work to 11x17 so none of the formatting and art gets changed?

thanks.

To reiderate what grillhouse said, "Illustrator is NOT photoshop or anything like it." Its based on vectors (coordinates) not pixels so dpi does not exist. Just change the document setup to 11x17, double click on the page tool (lower left tool), select all, select the scale tool and shrink it to fit. Create your print preview right inside the document.
