I have a user at a site who is connecting to print server to a distant WAN location whereas the printer is located on the same site as the user. I want to understand here that if the user shoots a print, it go on the WAN link to print server and comes back to printer. Also if the file is 2Mbps, is it so that this 2Mb file is transferred on the WAN link and comes back to the printer on the same LAN where the user is located saturating the WAN link.

If the controlling print server is across the 2Mb WAN, then yes, the job will have to get spooled across the WAN circuit, then have to travel back across the circuit to print. Better solution would be to implement local print server or if the printer is direct network attached (HP JetDirect, internal or external NIC of some sort), then just direct print to the local TCP/IP address of the printer NIC (peer to peer printing).
