Hi can someone please help me.
I have never seen this error before I have a Windows 2003 server setup and using it as my print server and everyday I get the error below and have to reset print spool service because users call that they can't print. Does anyone know why this happens or what to do to prevent it. Thank you,

The Instruction at "0x73071358" referenced memory at "0x026550d6". The memory could not be read.

Check for files in the print spooler. When I ran into this issue there file in there that I had to manually remove.

Ok you mean going into Computer management and then go to services, and print spooler and look for files there???? If not can you please tell me how??? Thank you.

Sounds like a bad priont driver check the print server properties to see what drivers are loaded. open printer and faxes, go to file and server properties

he means to go into your server - printer and faxes - file - server properties - advanced.

there you'll see the location of your print spooler.

might be something stuck there. I think you will need to stop the print spooler in services before it will let you delete.

do you have the print spooler in the same volume as your C:\ drive? best practice it's to place it in a difference volume due to the high io produced by spooling.

you can also check the eventviwer, look for errors and it might show you a particular printer that's causing the error. if so, reinstall drivers for the that printer.

good luck,

ceez

Yes I do have it on the same C drive. But what files should i be looking for to delete that might be stuck??

i believe that the spool folder should be empty if no print jobs are there. If you have any files there i would cut them ouf of the folder and place them somewhere, restart the spooler and see what happens, test some print jobs and wait to see if the error appears again.
