I have6 printers connected to my computer.
1 thru USB (Almost never use)
1 thru lpt on mainboard
1 thru lpt isa addin card
3 thru printservers 1 jetdirect, 2 digi fastport plus
use linksys10/100 autosensing hub efah05w
I also have a linksys epsx3 print server (3port)(not using at all)

would I gain or lose anything by dropping the lpt connections for the other print server?
I do use multiple printers at once HP 4P's, 6L, 5L when printing. I have been using this setup for a while fine, but is there ANY disadvantage to a network connection or LPT local connection?

I gotta say, when I'm in that position I always find it better to do a print server, either on my server or via a hub like yours. It's not so much that it's better or worse in terms of performance, but it makes things a bit more straightforward for troubleshooting.
I don't know the specific print server you're using, but some come with hd/ram space to spool jobs. If yours does, then you will likely see a performance increase on your end by using it, because it's the fast server spooling your jobs, not the slow printer. Moving your LPT printers to the Linksys device might make things faster for your too, because instead of using the slow LPT port you're using the fast Ethernet port. Although I'm sure there's actual scientific evidence to refute me, I've always believed that the less things that are plugged into your PC, the fewer problems you're open to...
Besides, print servers are cool!

Yeah, the cool factor is what got me started.
Saw a used jetdirect really cheap and bought it.
Later i actually needed it

I have wanted to drop the lpt connections for a while but been too lazy to do it.
Thought I'd see if anyone had any reasons NOT to permanently drop them.
