Okay guys - here's a really odd one for you citrix gurus. I don't count myself as new to Citrix - been using in anger for 3 years and this is the first time we've had this problem.
Scenario - Citrix XPa FR2, Printers all MS print shares on dedicated server (ms14). 2 apps having problems. App delivered via NFUSE
What happens is:-
when app goes to print report (generated within app by oracle), the Print fails to print (msg: "fatal error in toolkit. windowing system failed"). Have noticed that for these reports, the printer name appears as just the printer share name (eg clarence1) instead of being resolved to full name e.g. \\ms14\clarence1.
Thing is, it isn't consistent:-
- One server (ms13) in the farm creates the correct name for all users connected to it,
- other servers create the shortened form and fail to print,
-yet some users print fine on all servers.
Changes on a daily basis as our servers reboot overnight (MS13 thought prints ok every day)
Other apps on the server work fine (e.g. word, outlook) only happens within the app which uses oracle to generate form (when it does letters as opposed to reports, same app uses word and this works fine).
Any ideas welcome.
(only change recently is the addition of a new printer on the printer server + new driver, have tried removing all printer drivers and refreshing form the working server, and also refreshing the application again from the working server)
Thanks
Crys
