Scenario: User connects to Office computer via Remote Desktop over VPN. In remote desktop / options / local resources / has checkmark for Printers. But when connected cannot see local Officejet 6200 on the remote office computer under Printers and Faxes. Investigated, found out I need to install printer drivers on the office computer first via Printer and Faxes / File / Server Properties / Drivers / Add / but printer not listed under HP. Goto HP.Com, download the Officejet 6200 corporate driver bundle: EP-CDB-ENU.exe to the office computer, run it and it extracts the drivers to a folder. Now back to Printer and Faxes / File / Server Properties / Drivers / Add / Have Disk / and point it to HP6200 Driver directory I just created, click OK, but the printer selection list only shows "HP Instant Share" as an option! Tried the same on another computer with same results. Ran the Setup.Exe in this folder instead, it installed a bunch of stuff, had user connect remotely, but still could not access this local printer in the remote session. Both computers are XP Professional, I don't have access to the original Printer CD, but will try the CD Drivers when the user returns to the office, in the meantime any suggestions?
How can I get/install the required OfficeJet 6200 drivers so when a remote user connects via Remote Desktop, they can print to their local printer?

The network install method is supported from the command line only; please see Readme file for proper Network Installation. (Readme files can be found in extraction directory; see Step 4 in the installation instructions below or "C:\temp\HP_WebRelease\Setup\Enterprise\readme")

Thanks for the response,
This was a local install, but tried the network install anyways via command line, basically did the same as the local install, installs a bunch of stuff but doesn't really install the drivers where needed until the printer gets plugged in, but the printer is at the remote, so can't plug it in and Remote Desktop won't carry across the printer until the driver is installed.
The client was back in the office today and tried to install via the CD that was brought along, same thing. Work around: As the user's laptop had the printer drivers installed and had the printer icon in their Printers & Faxes folder, I shared the printer and then from the office computer, installed a network printer to this laptop share, the process succeeded and the drivers got installed on the office computer. then I deleted the network printer, checked: Printers&Faxes \ File \ Server Properties \ Drivers \ and the OfficeJet 6200 driver was now listed. So now the next time the user is at the remote location and connects to the office computer, the remote printer will be carried across and the user will be able to print at their remote printer from the office computer being controlled over remote desktop. Thanks

Glad you got the thing up and running, and that the client is at least satisfied...
