Hi guys,

I got a USB print server attached to my network, i have 4 vlans and this print server is attached to vlan 4 with ip address 192.168.4.5, i can ping it from the other vlans and from the PC's but when i tried to find the printer attached to the print server i got an error, windows can't find the printer, do i have to create an access list to permit traffic from vlan 1,2 and 3 to access the printer?, i'm asking this because i went to the print server web side and to setup it up i have to close the windows firewall and other firewall i have running and i don't have any firewall software running in any pc right now.

Any help will be appreciate.

BW, I'm using this path to add the printer in windows XP:
Code:
\\printserver_name\printer_name

What kind of printer? Any reason you can skip the "print server" and set it up as a tcp/ip printer in Windows, or even just a network printer? If all printing stays within the network, I have always set the printer up tcp/ip.

Burt
