Hi,

I want to skip the pages with a data field value = 'No' in pringing. Is there anyway I can use in CR 8.5?

Thanks.

You can suppress sections, which means that the records are read but nothing shows on screen or printed report. You get to the suppression formula by right-click and [Format Section]. Does this help?

Thanks Madawc. My purpose is not to hide sections. What I want is to control printing process. If a data value = 'good' the record will be printed, if ='Bad' the record will not be printed. I might not make it clear in last post.

You might consider using an Alert for this. Once you set up an alert, a window will pop up when you run the report stating that an alert has been triggered. If you choose to view those records, they will be isolated in the report, and you can print them. If you don't choose to print them, you will see everything.

I don't think you can set it up to show all records when your viewing, but only certain records when you print.

Anyway, if your interested in Alerts, you can find them under Report, Alerts.
Click New, give it a name, add a message that will be displayed telling you what the alert means, and then set up the condition in the editor.

Thanks Brian,
Not all records showed and printed by using alert. Any other methods will work better?

Did you set up your condition to only return the "good" values?

~Brian

Yes Brian. The condition I typied in is something like this, {Data field name}='Good'.

Other than printing, are you using the bad data for any calculations? If not, why not use Select Expert to week out the bad data?
