Print queue to call script

Is there any way of doing this? I currently do this on AIX nodes but am trying to migrate something to a linux box. Any help would be appreciated.

Explain in more detail please. The lpr command can use a 'X' option to add your own filter (such as form feed)

I used samba to add a printer, and the print command is a script which takes the job and emails it instead, is that the sort of thing you mean ?
