Hi All,
If we base a report on a query and prompt the user in the query for a date range i.e. =[Please enter Invoice Date] is there ANY WAY to print the date the user entered as a selection criteria on the Header section of the report ? Would like to let you know what date you selected
and printed for. Invoice rpt for __/__/____.

Thanks, Steve.

Is the user really accessing the data directly from the query or are they accessing the data through a form?

The user is ONLY reporting on the data in a table using a report based on a query.
A way around this is to have them enter the date on a form and base the query on this text box.

If you are using a parameter query, add an unbound text box to the report header. In the control source property enter the same parameter you used in your query.

=[Please enter invoice date]

If you are using a form, make the control source property

=forms![NameOfForm]![NameOfDateField]

Thanks sko,
The issue is that i want to be able to print the invoice date you entered in the query selection below.

=[Please enter invoice date]
is there a way to do this ?

Have a work around now because the user is forced to enter this data on a form which is then referenced in the report header.

I assumed you were also using the date as a parameter in the query your report was based on. Is this not the case?

Indeed, in the earlier version of the query it was just
>=[Enter beginning Date] and <=[Enter Ending Date].

Query works perfectly EXCEPT i would like to print the dates you entered in the prompt window to a report header and there is no way (I know of yet) to reference the prompt window.

Ok, use the earlier version of your query.
In the report header add an unbound text box. In the text box control source, repeat the user prompt. (The user will only be prompted once for the dates.)

=[Enter Beginning Date] & " - " & [Enter Ending Date]

Hope this helps

Wow , tested it and it works !!!!! Absolutely marvelous. Thanks sko, this has been bugging me for a long time ! Could not find anything on this. Really appreciate your help.[bigsmile] [bigsmile] [bigsmile] [bigsmile]

This is terrific. I can't tell you how long I struggled to find a way to have the user not enter the date twice!
