I am working in Crystal 10 and have a very long report header (text information that should print just once per report) that stretches over 3 pages, followed by a short detail section (generally 3-5 lines). The report header section consists of about 30 paragraphs. I have put each paragraph into its own section for maintenance purposes. I want a page number to print on each page, but I'm only getting it on the last page - the one with the details section. Any suggestions?

You didn't bother to state where the page number will print, so just place it in the page header or page footer, it will print once per page.

The problem that I have seen is that the Page Header and Page Footer don't print until the Report Header is completely done.

Since it is 3 pages worth of content, you have to put it in the Report Header, so I think you need to put the Page Number special field in each Report Header section that starts printing on a new page. The bad thing is that if you change the content in one of those paragraphs, it probably will change the position of any paragraphs below.

I hadn't realized that the page header didn't display until after all report header sections were printed, that's annoying...

I would take Brian's approach, and also use a New Page Before on the section to help with changes.

Another approach would be to create a group that includes all records. Create a formula like {@all}:

{table.customerID} > 0

Insert a group on {@all} and make it your outermost group (go to report->change group expert and use the direction key to toggle it into the topmost position). Then use the group header as your "report header". You can now add a page number to the page header with the results you wish.
