i'm going back to print a job that i created last year, and now all of a sudden, it prints in a bad quality. It looks fuzzy on my HP 6m printer. There's no fancy graphics or anything, it's just pure text that i have on this.

I had played around with the settings when i created something to be outsourced for professional printing. I had adjusted things around to be acrobat 5, etc.

Now when i return to printing a simple job on my own laser printer, the font quality is not as crisp and clean as before

I checked to make sure it wasn't my printer running out of toner. Using MS Word, and the same fonts, the text came out on print clear, sharp, and crisp.

Unlike exporting the file from Indesign to Adobe Acrobat and printing it there, the page is not as good quality.

Anybody know a solution for me?

Check your settings in Acrobat -- Make sure it is set for "press quality"

The default settings will be aimed at smaller file size = less sharp text.

Good luck!

hi texasjoe, thanks for your input.

I figured this out the long way...haha

In short, after countless experimentation with setting changes, it was the "press" setting that allowed printing to return to clear, crisp quality.

cheers!

actually, it's the "ebook" setting that worked for me.

I noticed that when i chose this setting, the DPI's were smaller. I'm not too knowledgeable about this stuff, but i think it has something to do with compression.
