print job "forking" to send job to two destinations

I'm trying to find a fairly clean solution for sending a single print job to the "printer" and simultaneously send the same print job to either email or a PDF file on the server. Anyone ever had to do this and/or know the best way to do it? There are program out there, but surely there's a way to use a print monitor to do this?
