I have several print jobs that are hung and when I go into PJM the *'s just scroll across the top, it says "refreshing print job list" and I have to kill the PID to even get out of the screen. It will sometimes show the jobs after scrolling for along time. But then starts scrolling angain and I can't delete the jobs. How can I kill the print jobs. I have even re-booted and the jobs come back.

Using SCO openserver 5.6

(substitute your destination printer for PNAME)

Disable the printer:

# disable PNAME

If you don't want ANY of the pending jobs, run this command:

# cancel `lpstat -o PNAME|awk '{ print $1 '}`

Enable the printer:

# enable PNAME

Notify the print job originator that he/she is about to get lots of mail (one per killed job).

Are you sure you type it right, when I give the cancel commad you suggested I get this error.
# disable lp17
printer "lp17" now disabled
# cancel 'lpstat -o lp17|awk '{print$1'}'
UX:cancel: WARNING: "lpstat -o lp17|awk {print}" is not a request id or a printer.
TO FIX: Cancel requests by id or by
name of printer where printing.

Sorry, I typed it wrong, I was using ' insted of `
thanks tons.
