Is there any way for allowing regular users to change the reports destination? you can select preview when using ADMIN, but not when using any other user, why? what am I doing wrong?

accpac 5.3b

Check your security setup, users need to be assigned the right to change print destination in Administrative Services.

This is what I have set up on my sample environment

It should work, but it doesn't. What am I doing wrong?

This is basic stuff. Did you logout/login after making changes?

yes, I did! i shutdown the computer, login again
change company, select the company again

still the same? what is wrong?

I noticed something else,

I have enabled all the Administrative services items for the group. when I logon NONE of these shows, only the rest of the options in the other modules, but NONE of the administratives?

why?

This is something you have to figure out for yourself, it is so basic I cannot imagine why it will not work.

Gee, I hope u can forgive me for my unexplainable Dumbness and for been incapable of explain my scenario.

If you don't have an answer for my issue, I think the most polite answer is not answer, even less treat the people like ignorants

What Ettienne is saying is that what you've done looks correct and we can't figure out why it isn't working - so you'll have to try some different things.

Something to try is to run the scanisam program to make sure the .ism files aren't corrupt.

That sound more reasonable, you got a different idea I might try. Thank you

do you think that the problem of duplicated menu items I have has something to do with this also?

scanism? or scanisam? where do i find this?

Scanisam.exe is in the runtime folder where your accpac.exe can be found.

If you have duplicated menu items that typically means that at some point your system database/company database pointed to the same directory and the two sets of tables are merged. Check out your CSAPP table in your company and system databases. The system database should only have the AS application and the company database will have all of the other applications except ( and no "AS" application).

This is just WONDERFUL, Thank you, You've just solved my question I posted few days ago

about duplicated menus. I think my partners made a dump/load and made a mistake and made the load of SYS to Comapny DB. it is fix at least at my laptop so far, monday morning we'll fix this on the server.

Yupi!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guest What? That was the problem with the security groups also!!!!

So two birds with the same stone!

Double thnks 2 u!
