I would like to print our order number in barcode format on the "MACOEPIKFRM.rpt" Crystal Report. We would then scan to eliminate key entry errors during pick process. Anybody have a strategy?

Macola ES 95.300
Crystal Reports v10

You question is not entirely clear on what you wish to do. I can only offer this:

If you just want to print bar codes on a Crystal Report, download or buy an acceptable bar code font and use it in your report.

randva, my question really is that simple and thank you for your help. Yes, all I want to do is print barcodes on our pick ticket.
I downloaded a Code 39 font yesterday and succesfully printed a barcode, but the code generated won't scan. I researched further and found this:
which gave me an explanation as to why my first attempt did not work.
So, I'm really trying to confirm the best course of action:
a) Pursue the Azalea.com route and purchase their software
b) Look into Macola ES Barcode module
c) Stop using Crystal and completely redesign our pick ticket using our label software. (d) Other ideas???

I print barcodes through crystal everyday. Both in Crystal 8.5 and Crystal XI (don't ask why I use both).

I bought bar code fonts from Azalea. It was not expensive.

If the code you printed doesn't scan, I could be the set up of the scanner or wand you are using. What scanner do you have and did it come with instructions? Have you talked to whoever made the scanner?

Good luck!

randva, I just figured it out. The font I downloaded yesterday actually does work, but I had to add the start/end characters to the crystal field as below.

'*'+Trim({OEORDHDR_SQL.ord_no})+'*'

I'm a Crystal dummie so it's pretty much by trial and error I accomplish anything with it. Thanks for your help.

The scanner is not an issue. I have an old but very effective barcode verifier (PSC Quick Check 350) that I use to measure the quality of our barcode labels. It lets me know if I have a problem.

BTW, why do you use 8.5 and XI? Just kidding!
