Dell machine crashes once, its gives a blue error screen basically saying that there is new hardware been added etc.... then it just won't boot up again once I try and restart it with the power button, the error is "2 beeps" Primary Hard disc drive 0 not found - strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility.

I haven't added any new hardware recently.

Networked PC to Novell Netware. Windows 2000 Professional.

Help!!.

Ususal symptom of a hard drive that has gone to hard drive heaven.

Try the [F2] key and let it attempt to autodetect. If it won't detect it is time to replace. You could try running manufacturer diagnostics, sometimes they will eliminate junk that stops detection.

If it will autodetect you could try to reinstall the OS. But any drive that disappears like that is probably going to do it again.
