I've place a primary coverage button on a group of six phones in one of our customers Sales staff. What they want is if no one picks up in Sales for the call to cover to the receptionist, and then to the general mailbox. Is there an efficient way to accomplish this? Thanks in advance.

Equip the Recep wiht a PRIMARY COVER button for these 6 phones (1 button for each of them) and then if Recep does not answer, then it will go to their Voice Mail.

Default is 3 rings at their phone and at her phone and then to Voice Mail.

If it is not working, re-post...

My bad, should have been more detailed. This is what I've done so far: In my last post, I stated that the customer had a number not in their DID range pointed to the console extension. What they wanted to do is now point that number at the Sales group. I renumbered an adjunct to an unused DID and had their provider point it at the new extension. All calls to that number now ring all of the Sales phones, and has secondary coverage to the Receptionist. But it doesn't cover to her VM or the general mailbox. What am I missing?

It's going to cover to a mailbox with the same mailbox number as the adjunct.

What voice mail are you using? On a Merlin Messaging, you could make it a "phantom" mailbox, which means you hear the outgoing message of the mailbox, but the incoming message goes into a designated mailbox, such as the receptionist's or even the general mailbox.

They're using Merlin Mail not messaging. Any ideas on how I can accomplish this?

Make the mailbox have a COS that points it to the 2nd or 3rd auto attendant. Disable all the selector codes, make the Dial 0/Timeout record a message in the General Mailbox. Make someone the owner of the General Mailbox for MW indication.

The Auto Attendant greeting should give the caller the pertinant information, then say something like "to leave your message, please press 0 or stay on the line", because it will still need to cover to the general mailbox to receive the message.
