Does anyone know how many extensions can have Primary Coverage of one extension using a Magix 4.0?
I think the limit on the Legend is 10 and hope the Magix allows more.

8 if I am not mistaking

yep 8

from the manual
Considerations and Constraints
A maximum of eight Primary Cover and Secondary Cover buttons can be assigned to provide
Individual Coverage for a given sender. Only one Cover button for each sender can be
programmed on a multiline telephone.

you could create a coverage group and send the calls there then you can have a lot more extensions in it, but you can then not send the calls to voicemail.

When you need more than 8 appearences for a station, you might consider using SSA (Shared System Access). It may be more flexible for your application. The Feature Reference document has a very good description of how it works and its interactions on both Legend and Magix.

At the auto dealers that I take care ,I use a combination of shared SA & primary coverage to get to to sales 15 phones , MLX stations get to Shared access & the 8 analog use the primary coverage

Thanks to everyone for the replies. I already have Primary Cover but need at least 6 more extensions to cover for the operator ext 1400.

As suggested I just tried to add SSA "shared access" of extension 1400 (operator console) to button 16 of an MLX-16D set and got an error!
I am using SPM 9.0.. Merlin Magix 4.0

Any ideas?

Westi,

Thanks for that, one but I need the Voicemail.
I think cvrbob and SYQUEST describe what I want, I just am having trouble programming it.

Thank you goys!

I dont think you can do SSA of an operator. Its been a while but i remember having issues with them and operators.

Another "trick" is to use a "LOOP AROUND".

Assign a COVER BUTTON for the Operator on a Single Line Extension port, and then "LOOP" that port to an incoming LINE PORT.

That "LOOP AROUND" line can now be assigned to any number of extensions.

Merlinman,

Now that will fix my problem perfectly!

Thanks
