Can anyone tell me what they would charge in thier market per run for the following:

Each data station cable will consist of two (2) 4 pair, 24 AWG, Category 6, 550 MHz Systimax GigaSPEED #2071 CMP, UTP cable, continuous cable run (no splicing) from the new IDF (Intermediate Distribution Frame) to the Workstation Outlet at the work-station. At the work-station, two (2) cables will terminate all four pair on a Systimax Category 6 (8p8c) GigaSPEED modular Jack mounted in a surface mount box in the cubes and on a flush mount faceplate in hard-wall offices. In the IDF, each category 6 data cable will terminate on a 48 port Systimax GigaSPEED, Category 6 patch panels. All category 6 cables will be tested and certified with a Fluke or other Level III tester with results provided to customer. No Cable shall exceed the maximum allowable distance for the link.

A ball park is fine. Each drop would consist of (3) cables (2 data and 1 voice) with same specs as above.

Thanks!

P.S. Yes..that is Cat6 Plenum (gulp!!!!)

Sorry Bob...thanks for pointing out:

Each voice station cable will consist of one (1) 4 pair, 24 AWG, Category 6, 550 MHz Systimax GigaSPEED #2071 CMP, UTP cable, continuous cable run (no splicing) from the new IDF (Intermediate Distribution Frame) to the work-station. At the work-station, each pair of one (1) 4-pair cable will terminate on a Systimax RJ45 modular voice jack (8p8c) mounted in the appropriate bezel as outlined above. There will be a total of four (4) jacks on each faceplate with one pair terminated on pins 3 / 4 of each jack. In the IDF, each category 6 voice cable will terminate on a new Systimax 110/100 block.

In other words (2) Data (1) Voice to each drop. Thanks again!

Based on that type of cable which is around $700 per 1000 ft from what I can find on Google and an average of 100 ft per run I would estimate around $300-$350 per location based on those numbers. Those numbers can drop if you can get a good rate on a bulk cable deal. I am based in New York City and that price would also be if non-union labor is allowed. Add about $50 per location in union techs are required.

LoL Carlin! CTCINY

Vegasnortel: A little tricky. If I recall (we cabled a casino there that sounds a lot like fellatio) everything was plenum, extra time, complaining and EMT conduit. Lots-o-extra-costs everywhere. Get payment schedule in writing.

1. Based on qty = 1, 1V2D w/4 split voice (yuck), plenum CAT6
Cost: $250/drop Sell: $350/drop

2. Based on qty = 24, 1V2D w/4 split voice (yuck again), plenum CAT6
Cost: $220/drop Sell: $300/drop

CTCINY may have the best bead on this one with $300-$350/drop.

Thanks all! I had a $350 per drop figure in my head before even asking...thanks for validation. I agree....sounding a little like a pain with many triples going to modular furniture, etc..., but work is work and if it is profitable I will take it! Thanks again guys! Have a great day!

Hawks,

Thanks for the tip! That is a SMOKING price on bulk! If I get the bid, I will probably buy from them and report back to all. At that price, I would pre-measure every run and cut to length. Thanks again all!

I think these prices are on the high side, we usually price our Cat6 drops around $225 for a standard unit. Standard means 100' average drop length, drop ceiling, standard LV1 with single faceplate, punched down on patch panel, test and certify. Non-standard includes hard or higher ceiling, longer runs, conduit, fire stopping, lift charges, etc. We buy our cable in minimums of 100,000 ft. at a time and get very good pricing.

Synacom,
Is that 225 per cable or per location? The pricing above from what I gathered was around 350 per location (1v & 2d).

That is $225 for a 100' cable terminated at one end in a patch panel and the other end fished to a flush-mount face plate. We do have a variance depending on how many pulls to the location but that is in relation to the entire job. If I am installing 500 AP's and 10 v/d drops the doubles are negligible. On the other hand, 500 v/d drops will be priced less than 1000 singles.

I am a little late to this discussion, but I would definitely have something in writing to cover unforeseen circmstances, such as if the runs exceed say 125' in total distance, or there is difficulty in fishing walls due to firestops, etc.

You also have to figure in the cost of [red]your[/red] labor (what you want to make per hour - which should somewhat include your time for estimating, ordering, picking up and delivering your supplies) as well as what you have to pay your helpers as has been pointed out above.

Otherwise, you end up cutting yourself short as to what you would like to make onthis job at the end of the day.
