Hello,

We have a Nortel Option 81 CS1000 PBX with a PRI trunk group that is connected to our Asterisk Free PBX system. We have it setup on the Free PBX to send all calls that are dialed as "9+1+NPA+1234567" to our Nortel PBX over the Virtual PRI trunk group sending "9+1+NPA+1234567". The DCH messaging on the Nortel shows "9+1+NPA+1234567", but the Nortel is stripping all but the last four digits from the terminating number (4567). This causes an issue as we have extension 4567 programmed within the PBX and the calls will ring to that extension. This is an example of numerous cases where the last four digits seem to be remaining on these types of inbound calls to the Nortel from the Asterisk PBX. You can place calls fine from Nortel using "9+1+NPA+1234567". There is no IDC happening within the RDB that supports the PRI trunk group. I have been working days and days on this and cannot seem to figure this out. I would greatly appreciate any assistance.

Hi,

You must program the connection as a TIE trunk not a DID trunk. If you program the trunk as a DID the Nortel will strip everything except the length of digits configured in the LDN.
