We have a PRI vendor that has experienced the same problem on IP Office/si/R/S8700/8500/8300. The client will lose outbound calling on their PRI circuit (see config below), getting a fast busy on outgoing calls while still receiving calls on the same circuit. The trunk group status is inservice/idle and the D-channel remains up. Eventually, the PRI goes down and the circuit needs to be brought down. When there are 2 PRI's, it usually only happens on 1 of them.

When a list trace is run from the station or trunk group, a message appears after the call has been routed saying "ISDN temporary failure 1192".

Has anyone seen this before? It is only with this vendor (CTC Communications).

ISDN trunk group
esf/b8zs/NI2 protocol

The Maintenance manual refers this to cause code 41. It's generated by the CO.

Temporary Failure
The call was not completed because the ISDN network is not functioning correctly. The condition is not likely to last a long period of time. If the user attempts the call again it will probably complete.

Cause Value 41 might also indicate:
? The failure of channel negotiation at the terminating interface.
? A data link layer malfunction has occurred locally or at the remote network interface.
? The call is being cleared as a result of one or more protocol errors at the remote network
interface.

That also refers to a couple of other cause code that mention invalid service requests. If you could paste the entire trace here, we might be able to see what's causing the problem.

It's definitely a mismatch between the PBX and the vendor's CO. It could be an error or a new implementation that hasn't been seen before.

Thanks Bernie. I had a copy of the trace way-back-when and have given the client instructions for collecting a screenshot if/when it happens again and get it posted.

Guess what. . .three weeks ago the PRI moved this and several other people to a new "soft switch" and the issue has not re-occurred. Hmmm.
