Anyone know why a PRI with MICS 7.1 will not auto correct. This site use to have POTS lines with CID and the CO use to update the time and date on every call. I can;t understand why a PRI would not do the same.

"A phone is a phone and not a computer workstation".

Same reason as CS1000 don't, not made to do it

Because, on PRI, time and date aren't sent with Caller ID.

Even on POTS, the time and date sent with Caller ID don't include the year. So, when a system is newly installed, the full date and time must be set manually. After that, there is a setting that will cause the system to automatically switch between standard time and daylight savings time: System Programming > Automatic Daylight Savings Time: Extended. This value is available only on MICS 7.1 (and CICS 7.1).

there is a button under programming that actually says update system date and time so it must be getting it from someplace

"A phone is a phone and not a computer workstation".

I guess you refer to the System Programming > Automatic Time & Date setting.

This setting indeed updates the date and time based on the data sent with Caller ID. Date and time are sent with Caller ID on POTS only; date and time aren't sent with Caller ID on PRI. The Installer Guide is also clear about this:

Installer Guide said:
CLASS trunks are required for this feature to work.

it just seems so obviously I that this would be purposely excluded from a PRI data transmission and dad North tell would not have address this years and years ago.
