Customer is thinking about getting a T1/PRI for their Magix system. The provider that we are looking at does not offer an integrated PRI, however they DO offer an integrated T1, and they can send DID's and caller-ID info as long as the Magix has " *ANI and *DNIS " capabilities. I'm not real sure what they are referring to when they tell me this. How can I check to see if the Magix system has these settings? Thank you in advance.

They want to know if there T1 card knows what to
do with Automatic Number Identification And if it
knows what to do with dnis .Tip I was just on avayas
website and It tells all about what the magix does
and i am pretty sure it handles d.i.d properly.

Yeah BUT, DID does NOT (as I have been told) provide Caller ID.

ONLY PRI,

Unless other people can tell us different....

The PRI will show Number only (ANI) on the Phone pmk incoming calls

The calls would be routed to the appropriate extention via DNIS

For Both to work together on the MAGIX you NEED PRI a reagular T1 wont do it.

ok well i am assuming that you bought this from
a legit avaya dealer see what they have to say or
call contact them yourself!!!!

PRI is the only way to get CID on a digital circuit. The Telco's claim there is a trick to sending a "fake" CID on a plain T-1, but to the best of my knowledge the Magix / Legend cannot do CID that way. (Docs confirm it).
