PRI SVC AUDIT TIMEOUT on unused PRI channels

I have a customer who has a PRI circuit from their Merlin Legend to their main office definity. On this circuit channels 1-9 are used for voice and 10-23 are used for data. On the Merlin, which is a 6.1, everything is setup how it should be and this link works fine. However, there is an alarm being raised "PRI SVC AUDIT TIMEOUT" error code 7001 (not found in 6.1 maint manual) on channels 10-23, which are the data channels. I checked the PRI configuration and only channels 1-9 are assigned as lines in the b channel group. This problem mysteriously showed up recently but I am not sure how to make it go away. Any suggestions?

I've had this same error on 2 magix's that were networked. The point to point would drop, etc. I believe they had a carrier issue that caused this error.

If you're set up like below, everything works fine. I just did one of these definity to magix last week. Don't get any alarms. Could be the carrier?

Everything is obviosly working, but you're just getting an alarm right? You're Legend is set up as Merlin ntwk and under clocksync, the tertiary is set for loop or local?

Do you have some of the Definity info?

DS1 Card - Connect: PBX, Interface: Network, Country Protocol: 1, and Protocol Version: a, Line comp (on both systems): 1, Far end CSU: b.

Signal Group - Supplementary protocol: a

Trunk Group - Carrier: ISDN, Service Type: Tie, Numbering Format: pub-unk, Used for DCS: no, Numbering Format: Private, Outgoing channel ID encoding: preferred, Treatment: service provider.

This is something that has worked fine and is still working fine. The only problem I have is my customer is complaining that the alarm light is on. The configuration has not changed on either end, that we know of. There should be no reason why it would need to run a PRI SVC AUDIT on channels that're being dropped for data. These are the only channels with the errors. It would make sense that the error would occur if the system was for some reason trying to use the channels, but they are not configured anywhere in the system. Only the first 9 are.

They're definely not assigned under PRI -> B-Channels, or PRI -> Lines? They're definetly not in a pool somewhere? What about the Definity? Does everything look the way I have it? Are they assign anywhere there?

They are not assigned under PRI -> B-Channels or PRI -> Lines, just the first 9 channels are. The first 9 channels have no errors, just the data channels 10-23. The definity only has the first 9 channels in the trunk group. The pool for the tie has only the first 9 lines from the 100D module. The only thing I'm not 100% sure of is whether or not the other channels made it in to another pool somehow. This isn't something we would have done, but not altogether impossible. I'm a bit of a novice on the legend but from what I've seen I'm guessing it'd be a fairly difficult task to determine if the lines are in use in a pool (Probably have to do one of those prints and search through that somehow I'm guessing).

Do a print, lines/trunks and you'll see if a trunk is assigned to a pool or not.

That alarm is a far end alarm though. This could come from the carrier if it was a regular PRI for instance. So it could be being caused by the Definity. Check the programming on that switch to what I put.

I really don't know how any programming on the definity could give the legend the impression it should be auditing channels which are being dropped for data. I had a tech out there this morning who power cycled the system but the alarm came right back. I am going to do a print on the system and see if I can find anything new.
