Can a PRI be configured on a legend so the first 15 channels come in and give line appearances, and the and the Last 8 channels be CALL BY CALL for 2way DID operation.

Don

Depends on your Vendor, the Legend can handle it, but you rarely find a vendor who will provide such service.

I am subcontracted to Replace a Dash system with a Merlin legend

They are going from Pots lines to A PRI

They want to have Line appearances on the console for multiple companies. And they want DID's also.

I have a feeling the customer won't be happy with the legend.

I recommended a regular T1 with 18 channels as groundstart or loopstart and 6 channels of DID to make it easy but the salesman is insisting on A PRI

As John Wayne would say, "WELL HOLD ON THERE PILGRIM...."

With the PRI, your problems could be over... - - AND YES the LEGEND could very well be the SYSTEM OF CHOICE.

I don't know how many "MULTIPLE COMPANIES" you are speaking of, but let's look at this possibility......

A company has a NUMBER ASSIGNED...

That number, when dialed points to one of the PRI D-I-D numbers.

That PRI D-I-D number is assigned to a PHANTOM Extension in the LEGEND.

Your OPERATOR has a COVER BUTTON for that PHANTOM Extension.

BINGO! - the Cover button Rings, operator either ANSWERS or it Goes to Voice Mail - Either way, the LEGEND is TRANSPEARENT.

Bottom Line - Job gets done, NO PROBLEM....

Does this sound like a solution you can use?

Alternatively, the PRI DID's could come into calling groups, each labeled for the different companies, then the calling groups overflow t the QCC operator who sees the label, and answers accordingly.

But, they would have to use a pickup key to answer more than 1 call, Correct?

On the cover button scenario yes, on the QCC no.
