Our company is swtiching carriers soon. I've been asked by the new carrier to provide them with:
- Protocol used
- if configured as NI1 or NI2
- number of digits
I tried the current carrier however they are not much help.
We have a Nortel Meridian Option 11c system.
Is there a way I could retrieve this info from the system?
Any help would be much appreciated.

You can get that information from the route data block, RDB. Go to LD 21

REQ: PRT
TYPE: RDB
CUST 0
ROUT x Where X=the desired route.

For Protocol types, print the CFN in LD 22;

REQ PRT
TYPE CEQU

Most of the information you are looking for is going to be in one or the other.

Good luck, JK

ld 22 prt adan dch x, ld 60 stat will show you all the t1's and pri's you have now plus the the d channel number you need to prt at the x prompt above... ld 21 ltm cust 0 return return.... will give you a list of all routes and trunk members, ld 21 prt rdb cust 0 route x will print the route of your current route, and the trunk type, ld 20 print tnd tn=1 0 (usually)will show you the trunk config.. the actual tn may vary... now you have the dch the route and the trunk printed, from that you'll have all the info you need, ld 22 prt cequ shows the pri loop that is configered, you shouldn't have to modify that, a few questions you'll need to ask your new carries is number of digits (if it;s tie or did) trunk type and start type. the switch interface on their end.. if it's a two way route, then you'll need to have them inbound from low to high, the 11 uses the last trunk number for it's 1st outbound, the co should use the lowest trunk for their 1st inbound... if you find out the info you need to interface to just post it and i'll paste a working config....not to worry, it's eaiser then it sounds, i recently changed 3 ld t'1's to pri's and changed carriers, in about 15 minutes

Hey guys, Thank you for the info.
ld 22 gave most of the answers I need.
John, could you expand on your explanation regarding number of digits.
We are trying to replicate the configuration of the "old" PRI to the new one. The "old" one uses DID's, should I make an ass of myself and assume it's 4 digits?
Also how do I know if the circuit is configured as NI1 or NI2.
This is what I get with ld 22 adan dch 3

prt the RDB in ld 21 this will give the interface type i think, it'll tell you hove many digit's you are expecting

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

you will dictate the number of digits to the co, the co will provide the interace type. that info needs to go through your new carrier. shouldn't be a problem, but when you fire carrier a and hire carrier b, carrier a is a little tougher to get details from...

I have a question about this also, where do you program how many digits you recieve from the CO if you are doing it for the first time?

not a well known fact but in aml_data (ld 21 to print, ld 15 to change, ANLD 7000...if that is a 3 digit number, you switch will only accept 3 digits, and give you an error on every call..

JC,
FYI.
It looks like D Channel 3 is configured as DMS100. You should be able to change this to NI1 or NI2.
