I am installing my first Magix with PRI. Can someone please help with explaining how DID trunks off PRI are routed to sets and also how outbound calling is best set-up..

Thanks

Have you installed a Magix and basic T-1 before? DID digits coming across the span must match the extension numbers exactly, you can however delete or add leading digits. Example, if the provider is sending 4 digits, and the range is 2100-2199, your extension numbers need to be in the range of 2100-2199, or 100-199 with the leading digit deleted. There are obviously a number of confgurations available, but you most likely get my point. Avoid using 0 or 9 as your leading digit. You can't completely manipulate inbound digits on a magix like you can on other switches. I have found the easiest rule to live by is to match your extensions exactly to the in bound digits being receieved. As far as programming the PRI setup, it is too complicated to post in the forum. I do have a PDF cheat sheet I could email you. Since Tek-tips doesn't like us posting email address, go to my web site and use the contact us to send me your contact info. I will email you the PDF file.
