Hello all,

I think I have a good one. Went out to a site to install a 012TRR in slot 13 and a 408MLX in slot 14. After doing this I noticed I lost audio on my pri in slot 5, carrier and d-chan stays up can even ring up a phone. If I take the 408 out of slot 14 audio comes rite back. I thought it might be the slot so I swapped 13 and 14 and did a board renumber, same thing put the 408 in and it kills the audio in slot 5. I know it seems like their is something wrong with the 408 but the funny thing is all the ports on the 408 work fine.
Has anyone else ran into something similar?

Thanks in advance

Can you try swapping the 408 in slot 14 with 408 in slot 1 or 2, and see if the same thing happens?

The real issue is "what could a 408MLX do to cause trouble to a card in a different chassis?" It's either the card or something about the combination of chasses. (Or some totally bizarre software error.)

Well now, it could be a few different things.

What is the HW FW on all Mods?

What kind of Power Supplys do you have?

(Of course, finding that out would require shutting the system down.)

It could be a UNIT LOAD ISSUE.

How could it be a unit load issue when the two interacting modules are in different chasses?

Good question JS.

Do we know the power units installed?

Was this some old CKE3 upgraded to R7 with the Old MERLIN II Power Units?

Of course, my first concern is the HW/FW of the 100 D UNITS.

There are KNOWN PROBLEMS with all 100 D's except the 517E15 and the 100 DSU-CSU, especially when mixed with any type of 016 Modules.

But even the 100 DSU-CSU chokes on data.
