I have a customer that has a PRI connection to Cisco equipment that connects them to a integraged services T-1 (MPLS) connection. They are provisioning the PRI connection to the PBX with 15 channels. Everything is working fine except: The service provider has allowed the customer to dial 4 digits to reach other locations. You can do this to any location by dialing 9 then 4 digits and it works ok unless the 4 digits start with a 1. Then the PBX returns a fast busy. Can anyone help?

thanks,

Yep.

First, see if they can connect by dialing 11, instead of 1.

Then, print & post your PRI info.

merlinman,

There are only 5 or so extensions they tell me that start with a one - they are: 1000, 1021, 1022, 1023, 1024. So it is a 10xx. Do you mean that I should try dialing 911021 for example?

Try that and see what happens.

I'd be willing to bet that 911021, will successfully connect you to ext 1021.

But do let us know....

For testing purposes, you might give an extension access to the pool dial out code of the T1 trunks. Then you could dial the code, and try placing the calls directly on the T1. Experiment and see what works and what doesn't. That will help you see what your routes need to look like.

Got it figured out - Still couldn't dial 1023 for example even after dialing the pool code 70 first. I was ready to pull my hair out...I finally found that by default under network services in the PRI setup that there is an entry for the old 10xxx codes. I deleted that entry and everything works fine. Thanks for everyones input.
