I am working on a bcm 400 4.0 with a PRI. The PRI is apparently VOIP from the router in the customers building to the Verizon CO. Inbound calls work fine, but I can't call outbound. Verizon keeps telling me that my system needs to outpulse 4 digits of outbound caller ID to "authenticate to the platform." I thought this would be easy enough, I put 4 digits in the public OLI, but still nothing. Ive tried 7 or 10 digits also. They say they can't see any outbound caller ID at all. Any suggestions? Thanks

That does not make sense what they are telling you if you need to dial 10 or 11 digits then the clid are they allowing you to send it? I know you wont see the clid in the monitor but are the digits dialed going out at all.

All ten digits of the called number are going out fine. I had this problem with another voip pri before, but as soon as I put in a public OLI it worked fine. They insist they can't see anything I put in the public OLI, but I have no way of testing it, or do I?

I don't have one. Would that affect a pri call? I could try it.

If something is in Business Name, and it's checked to send, you will not be able to dial out.

I was able to look at the isdn messages coming out of the bcm. When I have 10 digits of OLI the caller id is there. When I decrease that to 4 digits, the caller id completely disappears. Is there any setting for outbound caller id length?

You need to use the 10 digits for OLI.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.
