Pri on Magix

Does anyone have any expierence on installing an AT&T 4ess PRI with SDN (software defined services)on a magix. I can't get the d channel to come up or the b's. I've looked in the books they say they support it but I'm having no luck. Catalyst is also no help on this.

Can they change the switch type at their end to 5ESS or DMS 100/250?

That sounds like a provider issue. Are you doing testing with the provider?

Any alarms on the DS1? If so, the D & B's won't come alive! No DS1 alarms, then the switch may have the channels busied out. Contact your service provider or open a trouble ticket with repair service. The B & D channels are assigned to trunk groups in the CO switch similar to DID trunks. So they can be busied out! One point of info: no D channel, then no B channels. The DCH is the communications path between the CO switch and the Legend/Magix equipment. Without it nothing will happen!

You may need to verify translations with the switch person for the SDN in relation to the PRI info for the Magix.

No those services are only availible on a 4ess there special services. I'm working with AT&T and they say all is good you know how that goes. I'm just not a hundred % sure this circuit is going to work on the magix. You know how picky that thing is about circuit configurations.

Yes, I know Software Defined Network, SDN, is only available on 4ESS Tandem switches. But there may be some specific translations or routing info you need for the Magix to work properly. Read the section in the Legend System Planning Guide on DS1. It may shed some lite on that area. The 4ESS does support the Legend/Magix.
