im new to the forum so i hope i can get some help from someone. well here it goes im not to strong on norstar most of my training is on shiba systems. im trying to install a PRI on a release 7.1 system they have pots lines now so this will be a TOTAL change for the customer. if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great, and ill always do the same for any of you.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

If you don't have much Norstar back ground I would just hire a technician that does cause installing a PRI is a little involved and you stated that the customer currently has POTS lines in place now that makes it more involved versus just dealing with a new PRI install.

not very well at all im downloading a pdf off of we do phones dot com (im not sure on the rules on posting urls on this forum) but all i can find is a file about T-1's "Norstar Plus 0x32 R1-T1 Install Guide". i dont c anything about a complete installation manual. so if you know of a thread that could help me that would be great!

ive been doing toshiba for 11 years but ive installed partners,panasonic,inter-tel, vodavi, and some work on ICS's also.

well how about this can anyone tell me if 7.1 is any different than 6.1 i just got a pdf for it. as far as installing PRI's?

All those systems that you say you have installed are way different then Nortel's and it's not like your asking to do something basic like add an ext. or set-up a mbox your trying to install a PRI. There are techs out here that work on MICS's that have trouble installing T's that I help all the time, and you have little to no experience with this that's why I would find a Nortel technician that can go to the site with you or that could do it remotely. I'm just trying to help you out cause it's really no 123 kind of job.

I under stand what your saying im looking at the installation guide for it and it does look pretty extensive but since I have the manual and I don’t have to do anything until the 26th I’m going to read it and see if I understand it. Anything the system does the manual will tell me how to do it just like any other system I’ve ever worked on. But thank you very much and maybe if I have a more specific question someone can help me with that

One thing you need to make sure of is they get you either a 6 Port Combo or a Service Cartridge. You need one of those to provide the clock for the system.
