OK guys,

I'm stumped got a customer that has 0x32 with 6.1 and a PRI. The problem is after they enter "9" and start dialing the number if they pause in their dialing the call does not go through they start getting that sound that you here when your phone is off hook. It happens to everyone. Their carrier says there is nothing wroung with the circuit (OF COURSE NOT IT IS NEVER THEIR ISSUE).

If the end user does not pause in dialing calls go out no problem.

Any thoughts guys

UNDER DIALING PLAN LOOK FOR DIAL TIMEOUT, YOU CAN SET IT FOR 3,4,5,6,8,10,15 SEC

Don't laugh too hard... you'll be old someday, too. The default time is 3 seconds. That's plenty for a familiar number, but not for an unfamiliar or confusing number. I laughed at first, then finally set our dial timeout to 8 seconds (or maybe it's 10) after getting bitten a couple of times.

PRI uses "enbloc" dialing, meaning the MICS has to get all the digits, then send them to the telco all at once. If you have your dialing plan set up correctly the long timeout isn't an issue (except for international calls) because the MICS knows how many digits to expect (7, 10, or 11) based on the number dialed and, sends the digits as soon as you enter them all. For international calls, instruct users to press # after the last digit so the MICS will send the dial string immediately. If you do a lot of international calling to particular countries, you could add that to the dialing plan, provided the country has a consistent number of digits in their numbers.
