Hi! I have acquired a new (to me) Norstar MICS I belive 4.0 XC, I purchased off EBAY. I'm building up a small system to connect to "CNet", a network of telephone collectors linking their collections of phones and switched together via Asterisk and the internet. I have managed to get the system up and online using a trunk module and an E&M connection to my 2811 router and it is able to make calls, I have yet to wrangle the incoming part yet....

The system also had two t1 cards in it, I'm assuming the original installation had them both in use, possibly as PRI cards. I have managed to get one working in CAS mode but I'd like to see if I can get PRI up and running. Is there a way to find out if the system ever had a PRI enable code purchased for it, and if so, is it possible to retrieve the appropriate codes? The system was defaulted so the original programming is unknown. Is there a way to create the codes? Note that this system is not a "Business" system anymore, rather it is just part of my personal collection. If there is no way to gain the code needed without having to purchase one from ebay etc, I'm perfectly happy to run the system in CAS mode, but I'd like to do PRI if at all possible.

Thanks!
-Rick

You can no longer retrieve the PRI code.

I do PRI codes, but you should first check to see if the PRI programming exists.

I believe you are asking if the PRI options appear under the card type settings in the Maintenance menu? It only has options for T1 (and other non T1 type cards), as well as a BRI option I believe. I assume the PRI options don't appear because there is no key for it in the system.

For record, my SYSID is 14794552 and the software version is 30NcG00 NAT, the firmware card is USA-MICS-XC 4.1 S/W, if that matters... am I looking in the right place?

(Note that I don't have the second T1 connected yet, I have two cards in the Norstar and two ports on the Cisco, currently it is up and working on one channel in CAS mode, so I don't have any of the "Serial" entries one would see if I was in PRI mode)

Currently the the Cisco is the "central office" and so it is timing-internal since I don't have a connection to the "real world" other than a SIP into Asterisk which also acts as a IAX gateway to CNet.
