Upgraded an MCIS to use a PRI. I have an alarm on the DTI card. Originally we had an issue with the Adtran router. Carrier could not see a loopback. They replaced the router but I still have the alarm. When the system is rebooted all the LED's flash. When the card settles down all LED's are out except the in service LED which is a solid green. After about 15 seconds the Receive LED comes on solid yellow. If I look at the CSU log it shows an LOS, OOF CFA and AIS CFA alarm. I checked my settings with the carrier:
Protocol: NI-2
BchanSeq: Ascend
CbC Routing>FX:None 800:None
CO Fail: TIA-547A
I/F Levels: ISDN
Framing: ESF
Internal CSU: On
CSU Line Bld: 0
Line Coding: B8ZS
ClockSrc: Primary
The DTI card was replaced with a different one because the carrier blamed the initial no loopback issue on my hardware or the cable which also was changed. He said they could not have 2 bad ports on the router. After my fifth call to the carrier I spoke with an upper level tech who told me he knows these AdTran routers inside and out and he is the one that sent the new router. The DTI card is in slot 4 and a 6-Port Combo card is in slot 2.
A tech from the carrier changed the router because I was not available that day. This is hearsay but the customer told me he was told by the tech the he (the tech) was getting protocol errors from ports 3 & 4 on the router. In the notes the upper level tech had, the on-site tech said he had a loop-back on both the old router and the new router but he left the new one in anyway.
Does this sound like I might have missed something with my PRI settings or an issue with the carrier?
