2 BCM 450s both with PRI and Networked via IP H.323 and MCDN

If PRI goes down at once site can it automatically fail over to PRI on second site.

In other words a user dials 9 at site 1. All channels on PRI are down or full with calls. Call gets routed over IP trunks to PRI on site 2.

Should this work?

I have tried a couple different options but have not been able to make it work.

I am able to create another destination code and send calls out the PRI on the other system, but I have not been able to make it happen automatically when one circuit is offline.

You can use trunks off the other system by setting up a remote filter package but as far as grabbing the second sites PRI when all channals busy im not to sure of, maybe someone else can shed some light on that part. Personaly ive never had to set that up before.

thanks.

I can do it manually with no problem using a different destination code. I have tested and it is working with no problems.

What I need to have happen is to "failover" to the IP trunks to the other system and then go out the PRI on the other system.

Yes you can do it. You will need to put the system in permanent night routing service. In your destination codes, under night you will see 3 routes. Put your local route in 1, and the other bcm's route in 2. Set it to overflow.
