This is a long winded one, so here goes.

I have a 81 networked to several sites, some are opt. 11, BCM and Norstars. The issue I am having is with the PRI to the Norstar site. I keep getting numerous errors which I will post here shortly. It almost seems that the PRI is bouncinging, because I can call an ext. over the tie and get an answer, then I will see an error across the PBX (PRI241 DCH 63 DATA: 00000015), call the same ext. back and get a busy. Calls will also ring in on the Norstar site, and when they answer, they get dead air. When they go to make a call, the get re-order tone the first try, then get through on the second try.

When I check the error code, the switch tells me the following;
PRI0241
Protocol Error: No response from far end to this PRI call. Output data:
DCH: x DATA: y . Where: x = D-channel number and y = B-channel number.
Action: Report problem if condition persists.
Severity: Critical

Here are some of the other errors I am getting;

Action: Contact your technical support group if the problem persists.
Severity: Critical

Any ideas?

Mandatory Channel ID missing in ALERTing. that looks like as ifc problem.. but look at the ld 60 lcnt for that loop. did this just start bouncing?

I've been out on vacation, but suspect it's been bouncing since Monday. My counter was reset yesterday, and I am not getting anything since. All counters are zeroed out. My counterpart did state that the 81 went down late Thursday evening and into Friday, so who knows where the trouble is? Our Verizon Tech started pulling cards only to make matters worse.

I had a similar problem with dead air. The reason was that there were 3 PRI's in the same route with 2 D-channels one primary and one backup. Somehow the D-channels got reversed . The D-channels and B-Channels still synced up but when you made a call you got dead air.

Thanks Harley, but that's not the case here? John, any idears?

the problem started after the 81 went down.. one of two things.. either you need to enl msdl x fdl to redopwnload it or a bad change was done and downloaded on the boot cycle.. either way because it died post restart, it can be a software issue.. try the download 1st, if that doesn;t fix it..post the dch and route

JP, tried the ENL MSDL X FDL.....no luck. Any other ideas?

JP, can you see anything with the DCH and Route that would cause issues?
