hello,

When provisioning a ISDN PRI, Can someone tell me what the A,B,C represent in the DS1 protcal field? 5ESS, AT&T custom etc.

Primary - 4ESS / 5ESS
o Lucent Country/Protocol Setting: 1 / A
o Lucent Country/Protocol Definition: US / AT&T TR 41449, 41459, 62411, 54016, 54019A and 62421

Primary - NI2 - National ISDN-2
o Lucent Country/Protocol Setting: 1 / B
o Lucent Country/Protocol Definition: US / Bellcore TR 1268; NIUF.302; ANSI T1.607

Primary - DMS 100 / 250
o Lucent Country/Protocol Setting: 1 / C
o Lucent Country/Protocol Definition: US / Nortel DMS-250 BCS36/IEC01

Actually, it can vary depending on the CO. here in BC Canada, we have a mix of 5ESS, DMS & GTD 5 co switches. Most of the DMS switches are set to A & the 5ESS & GTD-5's to B. Some DMS switches, if they are optioned for NI-2 are also B. Very confusing. In case of NI-2 we also have to put "unk-unk" in the number format column in the route patterns.
