Reinstalling a KSU with a NAM. Only worked on a few so any help would be great. This unit was already taken down before I got to it so I could nto make note of the cabling. I usually install Partners.
Here arw the issues:
The KSU has two fiber optic leads which I assume I place in the two small modules.
I believe that one of the units is were I punch down the stations sets it has a small station set icon on net to the 25 pair AMP. Not to much of an issue there.
The other I assume is were I punch down the trunks. The issue is that the customer has a T-1 that is stepped down to a channel bank with 2 way PRI DID's. Now I have only worked with inward DID's before so not sure how they are used and assigned in this enviroment. They want to assign a DID for each station set. Would I just punch down these DID's to the block and route the calls for that trunk to the respective station set?
Also have not worked with PRI's what exactly is a PRI?
Looks like the NAM voice mail does not have a fiber interface it has two module plugs like and JR11c. I assume that these would be punched down but am not sure at what pin out locaiton. This must be a 2 port voice mai lsystem. The last NAM I worked on had a fiber interface so that was pretty easy to figure out.
I am a fast learner so any help would be great.
