I tried to remove the last 7 channels (077 to 083) from the PRI pool by selecting "Deprovisioned" status under the Resources -> Media Bay Modules ... section. I worked with the telco to do so. However after doing so I would get a message on the phone saying "no channel avail.." when pressing 9 and dialing a number. The phone still attempted to use channel 23 (since it pick the channel in decending order). What else do I have to change to force the system to select channel 16 first?
Thanks in advance.

Peter

You also need to disable on the B channel ie 23,22,21,20,19,18,17 .

On BCM50 v2 you can do this by Admin-Trunk Module Metric - Expansion - B channel . (I am not sure what BCM you have ! )

You also need to take it out of the provisioned lines under 'lines' and active pysical lines.

You may need to disable them in Link Status under Maintenance.

How is the PRI configured from the provider? Full PRI, or Fractional? If fractional, how many channels?

The system is a BCM400 v 3.5. I did indeed need to disable the individual B-channels under the Diagnostics -> Trunk Modules menu as Runako suggested. Is it just me or is the Diagnostics menu an odd place to place this option?
Thanks for your help.
