caller id works on digital and IP sets, except it only displays the number... not the name.

caller id doesnt work on analog sets.

Copy the COS of the IP/digital sets to an unused COS. Apply that new COS to one IP or digital set and start testing. Turn on/off COS options such as:

display ani/isdn calling number only
display ani/dnis/isdn calling/called number
display caller id on multicall/keylines

There is also another COS option that has to do with ONS caller ID. Look at those for the analog set.

Once you find a combo of options that work, then either copy the new COS back to the original or change all the sets to the new COS.

Might also have to look at the COS of the PRI trunks if the above doesn't help.

CLASS is supported on analog sets but there are restrictions. Won't work off a SX2000 ONS card in a per bay for example.

I'm pretty sure most ASU's and Embedded analog support CLASS.

Have you tried the help files?

I try the help files. honestly. I must have some different help files then everyone else because mine dont help me at all. I exhaust every resource available to me in this order.

1) think about it
2) experiment
3) help files
4) search tek-tips
5) search google
6) ask my central office guy
7) ask tek-tips
8) call mitel and take the $$ hit and get management pissed at me.

Sorry if I come across like an idiot, but this stuff is impossible to learn and its about as intuitive and easy to figure out as an unexpected kick in the balls.

The analog circuits are in sx per. bays so thats why they arent working. I can run an amphenol out the back of the 3300 because its not currently set up and get the most important analog sets caller ID'ing.

Ill try the COS combination switcheroo... theres only like 7 possible permutations so hopefully something will work.

Replace analog sets with IP phones.
Help files are great for day-to-day operations. I have learned the entire system mostly using them.

I did EDT VDSU TRACE NAMNUM and you can see how the numbers are coming in from the PRI, but the name isnt showing up from the PRI. it keeps throwing a message "incorrect protocol profile"

mitel tech support says that it may be a problem with the PRI protocol?

we only have a DMS 10 here on the island, but the protocol assignment for the 3300 is dms 100.

apaprently there is a 3300 in a different city that is operating out of a dms10 with properly functioning caller id.

Mitel tech support pretty much blew me off.

The other guy has his 3300 set up as NI2 with Bellcore protocol variant which doesnt make sense to me because we arent a RBOC. but whatever. I couldnt just change it on the fly because it would drop all the calls at the hospital and make who knows what changes to whatever else unknown so Ill do it next thursday during a scheduled outage when we are upgrading.

NI2 protocol w bellcore variant worked.

I dont get it, but it worked.
