I've heard there are problems putting PRI on a Mics DR-4.0. Anyone remember what they are? I got it hooked up to a NAM 4.0.04A, doing weird things since we changed from straight T-1 to PRI.
Thanks
Perrys right about 4.0 being bad news. And not just in regard to PRI. But you also have a bad NVM release. Upgrade the mail to 4.0.04E or 4.1 and the MICS to at least 4.1 and upgrade the NVRAM cartridge to Rlse2. If you are using the one that came with your software it will be a Rlse 1, and they were defective. Personally, I have had no problems with 4.1 on several large systems, including one with 2 spans of PRI. By changing the RAM cartridge and upgrading the mail and MICS s/w, likely all your problems will go away. But if you want to go all the way, go to 6.1
And don't forget to reprogram the mail to renumber trunks
sprucegrover mentions taking the SW to 6.1 and I remember some discussion a few weeks back about older Rel telephones with the new SW having volume problems. This may or may not be a problem but I wanted to bring it up as something to consider when upgrading the SW to 6.1.
trabra is correct. See thread 799-872789 for details on the sets release version and whether they are supported anymore, mainly due to volume issues. I also remember that the PRI on 4.1 would have all routing defaulted to route 000 if there was a power hit to the switch..
I just brought a Norstar from MICS 2.0 to MICS 6.1 with no issue on the phones. That big of a jump requires a software conversion tool. If you have Norstar Manager, the latest version, I would back up the system first, then upgrade. To back up the system from 6.1 requires the very latest version or patches to the old version of Norstar Manager.
BagsNYC - the bug you speak of was a default of the programming from PRI to PoolA when using Route 001. All the other routes were unaffected by power loss
