I am using IPO Manager 5.2 and I cannot find the screen for selecting the PRI calling group for outbound calls first and then POTS for failover. Any help would be appreciated.

in your previous post I posted a link to the knowledge base, check out LCR or ARS. Both will do what you are asking about. Unfortunatly I have not used either feature.

I looked on that website but could not find the programming tip nor anything on ACS or LCR. It seems to be more general information related to marketing than technical.

LCR is what you need for 3.2

setup the group id's. one group for your PRI and one for you alogs.

eg
PRI=Group 0
ALOG= Group 1

add a short cde to the main route
?
dial
.
0

change the timeout to however long to want it to try the PRI for before tripping on.

add a short code to the Alt Route 1
?
dial
.
1

send config and give it a go

jamie77 info is fantastic advise. Just check that your LCR/ARS tab does not already have entries in it. Ie some thing your reseller/maintainer programmed to give you cheaper calls with an alternate carrier. If it has you will probably get away with just changing your time out and putting the second part of jamies suggestion in the alternate route.

Or get your BP to do it.

It's 30 secs programming if you know it.

This is the kind of programming my customers are not allowed to do as they have nasty habits of breaking things!!!!!

Jamie. THANK YOU.

I have been struggling wiht LCR.

BUT. What if you want to have failover for a PRI to pots as well as routing certain prefixes over a different PRI (and line group)??

For this you would need to do some fine tuning of the LCR using shortcodes.

Assign the alternate PRI with another line group ID and in LCR just route shortcodes to your newly created Line group ID.

A brief Example.
ISDN Circuit 1 - ILG0 OLG0 Gives cheaper national calls
ISDN Circuit 2 - ILG1 OLG1 Give cheaper local calls
ATM4 Port 1 - ILG2 OLG2

LCR Main Tab
SC - 0N
TN - 1230N (Where 123 is Alt Carrier access code)
Line - 0

SC - 1N
TN - 1N
Line - 0

SC - 07N
TN - 07N
Line - 2 (Premicell from ATM4 port 1)

SC - 2N (This could be used for digits 2-8 with mods to TN also)
TN - 123012342N (Where 123 is Alt Carrier and 01234 GB STD Code)
Line - 1

This is simple examples. It is not giving seconday dial tones or modifing the out going number presentation.

is entries aready exist the ? should catch all the numbers it can't match elsewhere
