I'm a little bit of a rookie on this procedure so any help would be appreciated.

We currently have a PRI with I guess 23 available channels.
I believe our Merlin Magix is only programmed for about 13 or so of those to be used.
This has never been an issue as we were a smaller business, but we are expanding.

I can fumble around and probably figure out how to get them in the group but don't want to screw something up.

How would I get all available lines to be used for incoming/outgoing calls?

thanks!

Start by checking with your carrier and see if that is a fractional PRI with only 13 channels, or a full 23 channel PRI and for some reason you're not programmed to use all of them. If you program for 23 and they are only set for 13, then calls will be attempted on channels that won't accept calls, or calls would come in on channels that the Magix is not set to accept calls in on.

Just do a Print of your PRI info, and your Trunk General info, to see which pool and B-channels group to add the new channels to, then check the FAQ section of this forum for a step by step guide.

ok......

completed these steps:

5. Program B-Channels into B- Channel Group:
PRI>>B-Channel Group>>B-Channel>>When prompted for B-channel group, type 1 + Enter>>When prompted for B-Channels, enter in the form:
Slot/channel(sspp); Starting with B-Channel 23 and working down to B-Channel 1. Example: if slot is 4, type 0423, enter, 0422, enter, 0421, enter, etc.
Return to B-Channel Group menu.

6. Program PRI Trunks into B Channel Group:
>> Lines>>when prompted for B-Channel group, type 1+ Enter>>enter line trunks (1st 23 only, starting from bottom working up). Return to B-Channel Group menu. (Use Entry Mode if necessary)

below is a print out of what is showing after the changes:
Guess I need to get them in 70?

ok..
I just put 826 thru 836 in pool 70

that should be 23 total.

is that good?

actually that was a typo.... I only put up to 835 in pool 70.

As mentioned, we are a growing organization. So right now, only the busiest of days would get us that many concurrent calls.

Is there a way to see how many are in use in the system? Or do we just need to call several outside numbers (cellphones etc.)?

We'll give that a try.

Thanks TTT!!!

Hi, kind of going through same issues so had some additional questions.

I was following the guide in FAQ and was wondering if I should follow steps at both the Merlin-Ntwk and Merlin-PBX?

Currently I'm trying to use trunk on Switch-Merlin-Ntwk side for routing calls from Switch-Merlin-PBX side over tie-trunk to make outside calls on(xxx)xxx-1811 number. B-channel assigned lines are 813-835 which are all on Pool 892(Tie-Trunk). Do I put (xxx)xxx-1811 on both the "PhoneNumber" and "NumberToSend" for lines 813-835 on B-Channel Group?

Also Incoming Routing is set to "Route Directly to UDP" but the FAQ recommends Dial by Call, with Network Service set as Call by Call. We have NtwkServ as ElectTandNtwk. Can I change it to Dial by Call and not affect the rest of the system? Just don't want to mess anything up as phone system is pretty fuctional.

I'm having a hard time understanding conceptually how the systems talk to each other to execute an extension being used to dial out on the Merlin from the other side. Do we just basically mirror the B channel group on both boxes, including the "Phone Number" and "NumberToSend"?
