Is it possible to either add PRI lines (or the whole PRI) to a Line Pool *or* add the PRI to default route?

Situation: We recently had a vendor add a PRI to our Norstar system. Currently we still have about 6 POTS lines going in to the system but in the next week or so when we are sure everything is working correctly we will take those out and use them for something else. So now the PRI needs to be the default for dialing out, and I programmed a button on everyone's phone just to dial '9' so they can get an outside line. If I program speed dials to have a preceeding 9 and they hit their '9' button first then obviously the call won't dial correctly. However if I don't have a preceding 9 on a speed dial, when they try to hit a speed dial without hitting 9 first they get "No Free Lines" or "Unknown Number" (depending if the speed dial is set to Prime Line or Routing Table.

Thanks for any light you can shed on this.

Your making life hard, just tell everyone to dial 9 and the number they want to call and put the 9 in front of the number in the speed dial list. Thats the way everone else in this world does it.

That's what I have done for now, but I was hoping I could add it to the line pool OR make it the default route.

In my experience at this company, it has often been easier to change the system behavior than that of the users ;-)

gtenny,

You can add the PRI to a line pool under "line type as Pool PRI-A, PRI-B, etc. Since PRI line pools cannot have access codes you will have to build routing. You can can just build a DES Code of 9 and aim it at a route that chooses the PRI-A pool (of course you will have to change the CO line pool access code to something other than 9). If you wanted them to be able to use the CO lines and the PRI lines at the same time, you could have multiple routing steps for the 9 DES Code.
