Hi all! I know this subject has been discussed before but this is the first time I am in this particular situation. I am moving a big Legend & they are going from a T1 with DID to a PRI with DID- approx 140 DID's. Am I correct in assuming that if I set it up w/o inc routing the inc. calls will be directed to the matching ext #'s?? They have a 4 digit dial plan & will be getting 4 digits from the provider.
Thanks in advance ;-)

You will need to setup incomming routing for the DIDs and any ported numbers - along with a bunch of other stuff. There is a fairly good FAQ on the subject - check it out.

I thought if your dial plan matches the did's then you dont need to set up inc dial plan except how many digits the system should expect.

Yep - you still do - even if it is just a single pattern entry - otherwise everything will route to the operator as an "unknown DID". Take a look at the FAQ - there are a lot of steps to go through to get inbound/outbound traffic working correctly in a PRI setup.

That's a good question, thephonelady. If someone put a gun to my head, I'd suggest that you take all the programming steps UP TO the Routing By Dial Plan parms...but nothing further.

Clearly the digit translation table is not needed if the number and quantity of digits sent by the Telco match items in your dialplan. Even so, I think that the Route by Dialplan parameter is important in that it gives the switch a "heads up" about what will be sent.

I've got (what I feel) is a really good and complete cheater for programmig PRI on the Legend/Magix. I'd be more than happy to send that along with notes about this specific concern.

All I found in the FAQ is Initial PRI setup
Am I correct in assuming that the entry should have expected digits =4 delete =0 add=0 ??

Tim,
I would appreciate it- you can send to plantster1@charter.net
Thanks so much!!
