I have a school that requires a nine when they call out over there PRI. What is the best way to program the system to allow them to dial 9 and 911 just 911.

"A phone is a phone and not a computer workstation".

Destination codes.

You can apply what was discussed in thread799-1705103.

oops! I forgot I had already posted this question. Thanks for the reminder. This is another school I'm working at.

Just set it up and it worked like a charm.

Thanks

Since I activated this I am now having trouble with my fax machines on my ASM not able to dial out using the HOTLINE EXTERNAL/9. I get dead air. I can call in on them via their DID or DN. Any suggestions?

Follow up on this. When dialing 9 then any number with a 9 like 9,998-1234 right after I dial 9 I get 2nd DT then when I dial 9 I get INVALID NUMBER. The call will not leave the system. Any suggestions?

Thanks

"Invalid number" appears on the display when the dialed digits don't match anything: no destination code, no access code and no DN.

Review your destination codes carefully and make sure you have a destination code that handles the 99 case. It can be an explicit destination code (such as 99), or it can be a destination code that uses a wild card (such as 9 Any).

Ok. Will do.. I back tracked and reverted everything back to just 9 and I will start over.
