I'm working on a report that I designed last year. One of the big-wigs decided to delete the database on which all the Procs were, so now I'm having to redesign the procs and verify everything on the report is running propertly.

Now, in preview, I'm getting the useful error "An error occurred during report processing. Attempted to use an object that has ceased to exist" with no other information.

ARGH! Anyone see this before? Anyone know how I can locate this mysterious object?

Thanks,

Cat, the only thing that I can think of is that maybe there was a field in the original sproc that isn't being included in the new one?? I've never seen that error before

It's driving me freakin' nuts. I've got 3 sub-reports and a ton of stuff on the main report, not to mention 6 report parameters and 7 data sets. I don't know where to look first!!!

BLEARGH! <bangs head repeatedly against desk>

Thanks, unclerico. I'll check the field thing. Hopefully that's my problem.

Could be a reference to a subreport that isn't named quite the same as it was before - sounsd like a source control kind of thing where the report / data source has been deleted from the project but is still "remembered" under source control. If you use anything like Visual Source Safe, it may be an idea to see if there are still some links in there to your project..

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colours but they all live in the same box.
